The Carnavalet Museum in Paris, France features a permanent collection that is open to the public free of charge and traces the history of Paris from the Dark Ages through to the French Revolution and beyond. The Carnavalet Museum is among the most authentic art museums / galleries in all of Paris, and is definitely an architectural masterpiece of design. The museum actually spans two mansions: The museum takes up two neighboring mansions: the Hotel Carnavalet and the former Hotel Le Peletier de Saint Fargeau, which was annexed to the Carnavalet Museum and opened in 1989. With more than 500 thousand art pieces from engraving to sculptures, it's simple to get lost within the different galleries that make up the museum. You'll find over one hundred rooms, and each ones tells an aspect of 17th to 20th-century French history spanning Paris's time as a Medieval City and The Renaissance and the Religious Wars.
